ecotracker IR looses connection

I have just purchased 2 additional ecotracker IR devices. These will suppliment my previous ecotracker (the blue one). I have multiple electric meters that need to be monitored.

The issue I experience is that when I close the doors on the electrical distribution box, where the meters and ecotrackers are located, the ecotracker IR devices immediately lose their network connection.

This does NOT happen with the older (blue) version of the ecotracker, only the new (black) IR ones.

Furthermore, all other wifi devices in the same distribution box experience no loss of signal when the doors are closed.

A wifi repeater located inside the electrical box fails to resolve the issue.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to resolve this issue. I would have purchased the blue version but almost noone stoks them now :-(
